Practices For Creating Meaning: Before – Threshold – After
This new retreat is being launched Friday January 17 through to Sunday 19th, 2020. Participants will be invited to use different creative processes as a means to explore the cancer journey and also includes individual and group discussions, yoga and meditation, as well as time to relax and rejuvenate. Absolutely no experience in creative processes is necessary. The retreat is designed for women and has the same overall goal of a well-led, safe space in a community of others. If you have any questions about the content and intent of this retreat, please contact Fay Wilkinson, one of the lead facilitators, at email@example.com.
The time spent together will focus on reconstructing meaning after a cancer diagnosis. Using a variety of materials participants will be invited to create personal responses to their experiences of illness. This may involve re-learning the Self and the world, as much may have changed with the diagnosis. Both individual and group expression will be supported as participants share unique life stories and their personal responses to grieving and to loss. We believe that this approach to re-building is at the core of the creative and therapeutic process. We often call this work low skill, high sensitivity. There is no cost for this retreat, offered through the generosity of our donors.
