June 11 – 12, 2021

Light in the Pandemic: Navigating Grief & Loss

If you are living with a cancer diagnosis and are interested in a ‘set apart’ time where you can relax, be yourself, and learn some practical ways to reduce stress and anxiety, as well as enhance your overall sense of wellbeing, we invite you to join us June 11 and 12 for our online retreat. We will explore “Light in the Pandemic: Navigating Grief and Loss” through guided activities such as: expressive arts, restorative yoga, conversation, and community building.

See more information and/or register at the link below.

POSTPONED UNTIL COVID RESTRICTIONS LIFT. Watch for new date.

Looking In/Looking Out

Join us for this half-day adventure as we explore what we need to travel along the cancer journey, now compounded by Covid.

We will take a playful and meaningful approach, with simple art-making materials, to rediscover the treasures of who we are. This will be a time to connect as we gather to write, make marks and reflect.

Absolutely no art making experience is necessary to enjoy this safe, non-judgmental, face to face time together.

This gathering will be in person at Abbey Retreat Centre, with a maximum of 5 participants. All Covid safety protocols will be followed. There is no cost to participants.

If you have any questions, please email: barb@abbeyretreatcentre.ca .

Begins April 9, 10-11 am

Take a Thread and Follow It
6-week Virtual Series

This course is now full, stay tuned for another Online Expressive Arts series in June.

If you’d like to be added to the waiting list, please email barb@abbeyretreatcentre.ca

This innovative program will use simple stitching and other art-making invitations to explore and express feelings of transience and uncertainty in our worlds as well as ways to mend, repair and renew in a fresh way. These vehicles of expression can help to make sense of what is, by responding creatively to things that matter.

There is no cost to participate in this program.

“Take a Thread and Follow It” begins online, Friday, April 9, 10-11 am.
